EDOCC

The European Defence Operational Collaborative Cloud – EDOCC – aims to enable secure, federated, and interoperable services across European defence missions. It supports real-time data sharing, coordination, and the integration of digital capabilities from different nations.

The EU-Commission is the granting authority of the project. The customers are the Member States. The EC funds the EDOCC (phase 1) study with a Grant which will be combined together with additional national co-funding provided by supporting Member States.

Major industrial actors of Defence in Europe are joining efforts in the EDOCC project to develop a disruptive approach for the exchange of multi-domain services. The objective is to provide EU and Member States a virtual platform based on Cloud technologies that will increase the interoperability, efficiency and resiliency of military operations. This initiative will strengthen collaborative services on the battlefield and will support PESCO project ECOWAR.

There are 35 partners associated within the EDOCC Consortium. The core partners such as Airbus, Thales, Leonardo, Rheinmetall, Indra and Saab will closely cooperate on EDOCC federated system together with selected partners complementing their portfolio (such as ATOS, MBDA and platform manufacturers) and several innovative European companies including SME. Exence S.A. is the only Polish company among the industrial partners. EDOCC project is designed for two phases:

Phase 1 will last 3 years and will be dedicated to study, design, conceptually validate the virtual platform and develop the first version of a service catalogue with a TRL4 while identifying appropriate standards and technologies for high performance and interoperability

Phase 2 will aim for the development of a field demonstrator which execution is out of scope of this project management plan.

The EDOCC (phase 1) study shall demonstrate the benefit and added value of the virtual platform for multi-domain operations before the end of 2025, in order to prepare phase 2 with project start in 2026 and a complete EDOCC prototype towards 2028
